The 2nd truck, is my 1994 SS that I got from my grandfather after he passed away. Otherwise known as the project that never ends. My grandfather bought it new in 94, and shortly after had the bed and doors shaved, tail lights put onto a roll pan, tailgate handle flipped inside the bed, as well as the gas cap! The truck is in the works for a 5.3 turbo build on air ride. End result is hoping to have a Sema build, on a hillbilly budget Now... for the rig everyone loves! This rig is the one that is my dream It is a 1996 GMC Jimmy. I bought this rig from an elderly lady who's husband bought it new, and put 245k on it before he unfortunately passed away.. it sat in her yard for 6 years! (That I know of, of course!) I paid this lovely lady $250! She said it would need a transmission and wouldn't start, as that was as best she could remember... so I got to work! Threw a battery at it, stuffed her throat with starting fluid and she fired right up, sat and idled for a while. Fuel pump? Yep, very possible! So I drive her home, WOT in second gear lol. Get home and thought yeah, maybe it'll need a transmission... so, in the middle of winter, freezing Temps, I swapped it out in a gravel driveway with nothing more than basic hand tools! So after the transmission was fixed, I decided to add a few little things, a cold air intake, a 2.5 inch lift, and some touch ups to the interior, but you could tell she wanted more! So I later started replacing parts, and had a knuckle get weak and it broke on me... so, we added a 6 inch lift, with 3 inch lift keys! And behold, a 9 inch lift, add 35s and some good wheels and the Pearl was born! She was looking a little.... naked. I found a little group on IG named S10life... hit them up to see if I could get a windshield banner? Well, guess what? Nope... Sadly, didn't have any... BUT, they made it happen! I bet you didn't know the Pearl's windshield banner was the very first banner! Thanks for that, my friends Fast forward 2 years, and the Pearl isn't doing so well... she's low on power, MPG getting real low, like, 5mpg low! She's sick.... Ls swap? So we hunted down a 5.3.. $400?! SCORE! Ha, nope. Tore it apart and found 2 cracked pistons.... so I called a buddy, and guess what, I was in luck. We made a trade, his running and driving 02 tahoe for my 54" craftsmen tool box. So we got to work and started the swap. So now we can get to the details of this Pearl. She is powered by a 5.3 ls, 4l60e, and a 208 tcase, with a Corp 10 bolt front axle, and a 12 bolt rear axle. The mirrors are a set from a 88-98 c/k1500 tow mirrors with marker lights and reverse lights. The interior is mostly stock, except for the center console shifter from a zr2 2000 model in MATCHING interior color! 'Woah' The system in the truck is pretty simple with a taramps 400x4 powering 1 rockford Fosgate 6.5 in each door, and a sfb-8,000.1 powering a soundqubed 18 built with Sundown audio soft parts. She's a real banger! And there is the story of Krazyss10. I hope yall enjoy!
