89-91 S10 Cameo
“You are looking at one of the rarest factory GM Sport Trucks, The Chevy S10 Cameo, only manufactured from 1989-1991, in extremely low numbers. This is the predecessor to the Sonoma GT, Syclone and Typoon. Being a 1989 Cameo (Full body kit unlike the lesser Cameo El) this is the rarest of Cameos with only 37 being produced for the year, with a total of 878 being produced over 3 years. This makes it more rare than a Typhoon, Syclone, S10 SS, and almost as rare as a Sonoma GT. Like the Sonoma GT or S10 SS, the Cameo did not receive a turbo or AWD, just a tuned suspension and good looking subtle body kit”

Syclone/Typhoon
Syclone - “In 1991, GM built 2,995 GMC Syclone trucks. According to several sources, it could run 0-60 mph in (between) 4.6 seconds and 5.3-seconds and finish the quarter-mile run in (well) under 14 seconds. Available only in black (for 1991), it was, and still is, one of the fastest pickup trucks ever sold. Back in 1991, it was the quickest production car or truck on the market. Even by today’s standards, it can hold its own against the quickest trucks out there.
The recipe for the 1991 GMC Syclone was simple: take a small lightweight pickup truck and cram a 280 horsepower, 4.3-liter turbocharged V6 that made 350 lb-ft of torque (big numbers at the time). The 4.3-liter V6 was connected to a Mitsubishi TD06-17C 8 cm² turbocharger under the hood. EPA ratings were 17 mpg city and 19 mpg highway.”

Typhoon - “The GMC Typhoon was a front-engine, 2-door, mid-sized SUV that was based on the GMC Jimmy. Produced by GMC from 1991 to 1993, it was a high-performance SUV with a modified version of the Vortec engine found in a standard Jimmy. In tests done, the Typhoon was shown to be able to accelerate from 0-60 mph in 5.3 seconds; a quarter-mile distance in 14.1 seconds at 95 mph.”

Due to a drop in entries, the promotion was never repeated. All 10 Marlboro Syclones were claimed by the winners.”

Sonoma GT
“Debuting in 1992, the GMC Sonoma GT truck was offered as a sport package with the looks of a Syclone but without the price and performance of its fire-breathing turbocharged predecessor. With a base price starting at $16,770, the Sonoma GT was a cheaper alternative as compared to the staggering $27,465 price tag of the Syclone, thus adopting the namesake of the “poor man’s Syclone”. As with the Syclone, the Sonoma GT was assembled by GMC Truck and finished its final trim through Production Automotive Services (PAS) in Michigan.”

94-98 Super Sport S10
The 2nd generation S10 was introduced in 1994. Along with that came the all new Chevy SS S10(RPO – B4U). About 2756 (est.) SS's were made a year. They were each equipped with the 4.3L V6 producing 180 hp and on up to 195 hp Stock ,and were all 4L60 automatic transmissions. The SS was introduced with only three colors:
ZR2 S10/Blazer 94-05
1994 - ZR2 package is introduced with the Regular Cab second-generation S-Series Pickups
“1995 - ZR2 package expanded to Extended Cab S-Series Pickups
1996 - ZR2 package extended to two-door Blazer models. Third door was offered on extended cab models.
1998 - Disc brakes are now standard on the front and rear wheels. Interior updated along with front grille and headlights.
1999 - GM replaces the aluminum skid plates with composite skid plates. Side mirrors are updated. (much stronger)
Last model year the ZR2 option was offered on a regular-cab pickup.
2001 - ZR2 package extended to Chevrolet Tracker
2002 - ZR2 Trackers were upgraded to the LT trim level, offering optional leather upholstery
2003 - During the production year, ZR2s begin shipping with General Ameritrac tires instead of BF Goodrich tires.
GM discontinues S-Series Pickups. This is the last year that the ZR2 is available on a pickup.
A GMC Jimmy ZR2 surfaces in Canada. The Jimmy ZR2 was unavailable in the USA.
2004 - ZR2 available on Blazer and Tracker models. For the first time, the ZR2 is offered in 2WD.
2005 - This is the last year for the ZR2 Blazer (USA) and Jimmy (Canada)
GM discontinues all remaining S-Series models. RPO ZR2 is phased out.
2017 - GM reintroduces the ZR2 option on the Chevrolet Colorado.”

Xtreme S10/Blazer 99-04
“Produced from 1999 to 2004, the S-10 Xtreme was Chevrolet’s answer to the era’s growing demand for sport trucks an entry-level price. That price point, which was just over $15,000, represented about a 15 percent price bump over a base model S-10. But the Xtreme got a lot of upgrades that Chevrolet figured would attract younger buyers.
Those upgrades included an aggressive body kit, model-specific 16-inch wheels, and ZQ8 suspension, which notably lowered the ride height. Interestingly, Chevy offered the Xtreme on both the regular cab and extended cab S-10 models, and with both fleetside or flareside bed options. 2.2 - 4.3s Available”

ZR5 S10 02-04
“In 2002, Chevrolet hooked up its “ZR” package deal to the four-wheel drive S-10 Crew Cab and dubbed it the ZR5. The ZR5 package deal made no mechanical or structural adjustments to the S-10 Crew Cab, it merely added ZR5 decals, aluminum wheels, physique moldings, aspect steps and a roof rack.

Preserving this in consideration, what’s the distinction between zr2 and zr5?
The ZR5 (the higher model of the LS package deal Chevy S10 Crew Cab) what Crew cab vans are is prolonged cab frames with the non zr2 frames. The zr2 will get it carry from from the body which is totally completely different within the entrance than the non zr2 counterpart.”

“The ZRX “Street Rider” package was a $5,000 upgrade from GMC
Only 500 of these specially equipped Sonomas were produced in 2003
Only available in black, red, or yellow, and only came with the 4.3L Vortec V6

Trailblazer Edition Blazer 99-01
“The TrailBlazer name was first introduced for the 1999 model year as an upscale trim level of the compact 4-door Chevrolet S-10 Blazer. It offered additional features on top of the previously top-of-the-line Chevrolet S-10 Blazer LT trim level, including an A/M-F/M stereo with single-disc CD player and optional remote cassette player, OnStar, color-keyed front and rear bumpers, side cladding, and front grille, a leather-wrapped steering wheel with cruise control, upgraded alloy wheels, a full-size spare tire and wheel, and upgraded cloth seating surfaces with power front bucket seats. Options such as a Bose premium audio system, leather-trimmed seating surfaces with front seat heating, premium alloy wheels, a power sunroof, and gold accents for the exterior emblems and alloy wheels were all available for the TrailBlazer. While the TrailBlazer trim level was discontinued after 2001 when the mid-size 2002 TrailBlazer was introduced, production of the standard compact S-10 Blazer overlapped until the 2005 model year, when it was finally replaced by the Equinox in the US.”
